Your students will love filling out thes fun
journals, once, twice or everyday of the week.
The Daily Activity Journal is a unique journal
that incorporates daily writing prompts with
daily activities. It also incorporates grammar
skills and review (and the student has no idea)
The objectives of the journal are very simple:
1) To increase creative expression through
writing.
2) To experience fun, and enjoyment through
writing.
3) To increase self-esteem and self-
awareness through writing.
The author wrote the journal for her own kids
because she wanted them to have a safe and
fun place to discover the joy of writing. She
wanted to provide a place where they could
write without fear of being edited, corrected
or scrutinized (no grading allowed). She
wanted their journal to be the first workbook
they wanted to do at the beginning of a school
day. She also wanted to review grammar skills
in a way where the student did not know they
were being reviewed. Well, this journal is the
answer!
Simple Supplies Needed
1) Sharp pencils (colored and regular #2)
2) Crayons
3) Glue Stick
4) Scissors
5) Colored Pencils
6) Tape Recorder: There are a few activities
that require the student to dictate a story into
a tape recorder. They will need to play it back
and write down what they dictated. A portable
tape recorder will work best, but please use
whatever you have on hand.
7) Lots of encouragement!
Each day comes with a different prompt to get
the student writing and follows with a fun
activity. With over 70 daily writing prompts and
70 daily activities, there are more than enough
writing opportunities!
The book also comes with a list of the most
commonly misspelled words, parts of speech,
sample adjectives, sample nouns, and adverbs!
This book is more than just a journal – itâ
€™s a fun way to get your kids writing, while
helping them review their grammar skills. Give
it a try and see if this book isn’t the first
workbook your student will want to do at the
beginning of each school day!
